Hands Across the Community in the Williamson House

Our precious church in Texas closed it's doors once each spring and the whole church went into the community to serve. Those days really impacted us, and we wanted to continue that tradition here in NC.

Yesterday was that day for us. The homeless that we see around us everyday have really become a burden on all of our hearts. QB and I have been talking about ways that we could really love them and not just throw a couple of dollars out the window at a stoplight. So yesterday instead of going to church we tried to be the church and made "stoplight bags"with the girls.

We started out at McDonald's getting some gift cards and then went to Wal-Mart.  We wanted to fill the bags with things that could handle riding around in a basket in the car, so we would always have them when the opportunity to love on someone came along.

The girls really LOVED doing this.  It blessed us all. We copied a note that I had seen online that I loved and our little artist made a card for them.

It took us about 2 hours start to finish and now we are ready to show compassion and love to those that God puts in our path.  We will definitely do this again with the girls.

"Then those sheep are going to say, 'Master what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you a drink.  And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you.'  Then the King will say, 'I'm telling you the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me-
you did it to me."
Matthew 25:40
