What A Difference A Year Makes

Not sure what it is about birthday's, but they make me very melancholy. Especially big ones! 13 is a big one. I have had so much fun planning the party for our little pink poof ball turned fishing extraordinaire! It has given me a chance to see quite a transformation. I am reminded again and again that God has really big plans for her and I am NOT in the drivers seat. Only He knows what He is growing her to be but I am so blessed that my sideline seat is right in the front.

This time last year we were in Texas celebrating with some very special friends, but the nearest family member was 18 hours away. Last night we were surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. What a blessing and how amazing that God moves in ways that cause our hearts to overflow with thankfulness.

Grandmother's sewing decorations, grandfather's making party favors and other grandparents hosting the party and making her a keepsake that she will one day wrap her own children in. Happiness leaked from my eyes from time to time. I am overwhelmed with God's goodness and our blessings. So unworthy of his gifts but so thankful that he loves us in spite of our flaws.

Happy birthday Baby Ruth. I know He has big plans for you!

Glory to Ole Auburn Road Trip

I couldn't think of anywhere that Baby Ruth would rather be on her birthday than Auburn, Alabama. Through much plotting, with my dear friend Aimee, we pulled off a great surprise. She was just so grateful. She couldn't believe we were going to Auburn. So much fun to see something that makes your child's heart so happy!

It SNOWED!!

The prediction of snow makes me as giddy as Christmas Eve. We kept our faces smushed to the windows just waiting on the first flake and flakes we got!!

I haven't seen this much snow since I was a child. QB and I have been laughing that every time we move we bring crazy weather with us.

The girls are more than excited and after spending a bit of time prepping for power outages we got busy playing!
