She's Got the Eye of the Tiger

We got home last night tired and a bit wet, but we packed a week worth of memories into 48 hours! Baby Ruth may have said,"Thank you so much for taking me to Auburn!" about 60 times in between Auburn and Charlotte.   Her words; "This is the happiest day of my life!"

We left Georgia early so we had time to take it all in.  The non-stop chatter between the girls was so much fun to listen to!

I thought these two might love the hair off of each other when we got there.  Such a gift to have friends that you see less often these days, but you are able to jump right back in where you left off.

We did a lot of walking around and taking it all in before the game started.

Kind of a big deal to her!

The Tiger Walk is what we were all looking forward to the most.  Leighton even made a sign for Gus.

We were there about an hour before it started so the girls could get up close.  So glad we did that!

They had one thing on the brain.  Where was Gus?

No mistaking when they spotted him.  I was dying laughing at their enthusiasm.

She's never going to get over that one!  Leighton was just as excited because he read her poster!

She didn't miss one moment!

Last but not least, Toomer's Corner to get their rolling on.

Such a special time with dear friends and memories that will last a lifetime.  As I was really trying to picture Baby Ruth there, I couldn't help but see the reasons why she loves it so.  This creed is SO Auburn and also so HER.  She's more fired up now than ever, and ready to climb the mountain of studying and working hard to pursue her dream.  Love that about her.

These words were penned by Auburn's first head football coach; George Petrie (1945).

She Believes in Auburn, and LOVES it!!

Well we are off this weekend for a quick trip to Georgia, and then on to Baby Ruth's most favorite place in the WHOLE world; Auburn University.

She was slowly fed orange and blue Kool-aid by all of our kind friends from about 4 years old on and now, well to say she's a fan is an understatement.

This was her visit when she was 10 years old.  This is her dream.  You children's dreams become your dreams so now I find myself yelling "War Eagle!" and dressing in orange and blue.  I spent last night pulling out everything I own that is orange and cramming it in a suitcase.  Makes me laugh at how infections that Auburn word has become in our family.  The QB just shakes his head and laughs. He still can't figure it out.

I can't wait to post about our trip because I know it's going to be so much fun for my little veterinarian in training.  My joy will be to watch her experience her first Auburn home game.  She's got her toilet paper on lock and ready to dress up Toomer's corner.  WDE!

These are the real high heels!

Once upon a time there was a little girl who took a dance class at church called Happy Feet!  She loved the spinning and the twirling and she LOVED her "poofy princess dress."  She was quite taken.

In her second year of dance she said the most remarkable thing, "Ballet is slow and boring and I don't want to dance like that again.  I like jazz and tap!"

Well, I was flabbergasted but I listened to her and didn't push.  She skipped a year of ballet but realized she missed the poofy princess dress and soon came to her senses.  She worked very hard for many years and counted the days until her feet FINALLY would stop growing and she could go on pointe!

That day was this week and these are those lovely ballerina feet and legs.

Three and thirteen!

Congratulations Baby Ruth.  We are so proud of all your hard work and your real high heels!

A Frightening Good Time

When witches go riding and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, 'tis near Halloween.

I look forward to this day of the year much like my littles.  The excitement and energy in our house is pretty high the week of Halloween.  It has become a big family affair and I just adore it.  Mom and I worked hard on the girls costumes this year and they had a ball yesterday visiting Krispy Kreme and being treated like rock stars.  It was very funny.  Here is a link to where we came up with the idea.

Our traditional Halloween dinner and treating continued this year with lots of grandparents and cousins.  Love seeing the kids and adults spend the night laughing and catching up.  Come on in and check out the festivities.

Mimi wowed us with her wonderful cupcakes.  They taste as good as they look. She even makes her own spiderwebs.  Quite the baker.

Aunt Cristen's cheese ball was a hit.  All that was left was a jaw and an eye socket.  Here is a link to her Pinterest board where she has some of the cutest ideas for Halloween.

So now the best part.  All the costumes.  I LOVE this part!

The Black Eyed Peas!

Sharks and scuba divers!

Mimi Dots and Scary Skeleton Grandpa

Love that my silly family embraces all of this and has such a good time. Happy Halloween!
